Nervilia orchid three species found in Kolhapur District of Maharashtra, India. Nervilia Plicata is a single leaf orchid.
Botanical name of this plant is Nervilia Plicata belonging to Orchidaceae family (Orchid family). That Orchid has a single leaf. Leaf is appearing after the flowering stem. Color of leaf is dark green, mottled with purplish brown. Stalks are up to 1-2 cm long, blade kidney-shaped or round with heart shaped.


The flowering stem is 8-5 cm tall with 1-3 flowers. Bracts are very small, shorter of the pedicle ovary, ovate. Sepals and petals nearly equal, spreading, narrowly lance-shaped, green. Flower blossoms in May-June month. Lip is ovate when spread out, lower part whitish or rose-colored, embracing the column, with thickened yellow midrib, apex pale violet, minutely emarginated. The column is narrowed in a lower half. Ovary and flower-stalks are ridged.



Nervillia Plicata is found in the Himalayas, from Pakistan to Sikkim and Bengal, at elevations of 200-1000 m.
